Most recently, Wendy traversed to the other side of the globe on a volunteer trip to Morocco in order to stretch herself beyond her comfort zones and to defy stereotypes. Serendipitously, she was even able to contribute her design skills while in the field to help benefit one of the NGO projects on the trip. (Ask her about the trip sometime and she'll love to tell you all about the life-changing journey!)
Meanwhile, driven by the thirst of curiosity and compelled by conquering her fears—because she 100% believes that doing the things that scare you will also reward you with character growth—Wendy also struck out on her own and opened up her own freelance business. She has learned much about the ups and downs of going solo, but is also thankful for the freedom to have done so because she now understands how to see situations through the eyes of a designer, business owner and client.
Earlier in her career, Wendy graduated from the Art Center College of Design with Honors and went on to become the Art Director and Design Manager at Ferroconcrete in Downtown Los Angeles. Prior to this, Wendy served as a design intern at AdamsMorioka.
Presently, she works on independent freelance projects while also freelancing part time as an Art Director at various studios.
Wendy's work has been recognized in AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers, Communication Arts, Graphic Design USA, Packaging Essentials by Rockport, Print Magazine, and several international design publications. When she isn't designing, she can often be found wielding a spatula, whisk, or sharp kitchen knife while listening to podcasts in attempts to learn new foreign languages (#AspiringPolyglot).
She is currently available for freelance opportunities.
